I have also tried updating the Rider with my laptop to be sure it is not a problem with my PC, it also failed. I ran chkdsk from a command window and fixed errors on the drive. I am using Windows Vista. check my blog The reason being is that if you try to format a faulty flash memory drive it may fail to format and you will be left with a completely non functioning unit.

I have 8 years experience with Tomtom PNDs, and just started using a fitness watch.

C:\Users\Michelle\Documents\TomTom\HOME\Download\complete\map\USA__Canada___Mexico\USA_Canada_and_Mexico_P.zip: Write error in the file cline.dat. At this point you might have to disconnect the device a few times and switch it ON/OFF to enable it to setup some important stuff. 4. But use a connected computer, not a WIFI. (I am on a connected computer) Did this also and was able to download the map again but same error message. The backup is going right now, files are being copied, should I abort and still try another USB cable or port?

Then try renaming mydocuments\tomtom\home\download to mydocuments\tomtom\home\downloadOLD. It did not work at all. I have removed and tried again, and when it connects it backs up and overswrites the previous back up so now my back up wont go back on. news Good help on this posting.
